You fill in one form, we match it by hand, and the trucks come to you. There are three steps.

A person on our team reads every request. They pick up to three vetted local trucks that suit your date, crowd and cuisine, and send your details only to them.

3. Compare quotes and book directly

The trucks contact you with menus and prices. Ask questions, compare, and book the one you like. The Foodtruck List doesn't handle payments, so you agree the deposit and terms with the truck itself.

What it costs to rent a food truck for an event

Most private food truck bookings run $15 to $40 per person, according to Food Truck League. Most trucks also set a minimum spend of $800 to $1,500 before they'll roll out.

BestFoodTrucks' booking data puts most single-truck events at $1,500 to $2,800 total, or $22 to $38 per person. Food Truck Club's paid bookings show a lower median of $18 per person. Platforms measure differently, so treat these as ranges, not one national rate.

How many food trucks do you need?

One food truck covers most private parties and smaller weddings. Bigger crowds and tight lunch windows are where a second truck earns its place.

For public events where everyone is expected to eat, the Cincinnati Food Truck Association suggests 200 to 300 attendees per truck. For a catered meal, go by each truck's serving speed instead. A second truck, staggered serving times or a shorter menu all help a large group.

How to get better quotes from food trucks

Trucks answer fastest when your request settles their questions up front. Food truck owners want to know they can park, serve and cover their costs.

• Count eaters, not invitations. Give the number of people who will actually eat.
• Say who pays. Host-paid catering and guest-pay vending are different quotes.
• Share a budget. A per-person figure or a total lets trucks build a menu that fits.
• Confirm the spot. Trucks need a flat, legal place to park with room for a line.
• Mention power. Ask the venue whether trucks can plug in, or say you're not sure.
• Give lead time. Many food trucks book their calendars months ahead, and the best food trucks for your date fill up first.

Travel is usually included within the truck's home area, often 25 to 50 miles. Beyond that, expect about $1 to $3 per mile, per Food Truck Club.
